The Georgia Agribusiness Council Welcomes Ag Networks to Membership

Leaders of the 700-member strong Georgia Agribusiness Council recently welcomed Ag-Networks to membership during their fall board meeting in Atlanta. "We are very delighted to have Michael Hammond and his Ag-Networks team join the GAC family" stated Council President Gary W. Black of Commerce, Georgia. "Many of our members find great advantage in doing business with each other. I am sure that Ag-Networks' payroll services will be of interest to a variety of our member companies," said Black.

The company’s payroll offerings including direct deposit, prepaid payroll cards, basic financial literacy, and telecommunications are designed to help the underserved. The Ag-Networks Payroll Program was initially designed for large commercial workforces employed by fruit and vegetable farms. These workers are generally undereducated and have been exploited by other services providers looking to take advantage of the limited knowledge of their options.

The Georgia Agribusiness Council is focused on promoting agribusiness development while building coalitions within the agricultural community. "The Council's diversified membership base allows us to identify new market opportunities within our home state. We are proud Georgians and look forward to helping other agribusinesses in the area," states Michael Hammond, co-founder of Ag-Networks.

"Our goal is to use technology to develop services and educational programs that make life better for the state's employment base. Educating workers and eliminating costs for employers is a win-win for everyone," added Hammond.

About the Georgia Agribusiness Council
Officially incorporated on January 17, 1966, the Georgia Agribusiness Council mission is "To Advance the Business of Agriculture and Promote Environmental Stewardship to Enhance the Quality of Life for All Georgians." This mission forms the basis for our efforts on behalf of our members and this industry each day. Agribusiness is a $56.7 billion industry in Georgia, a figure which represents 16% of the gross state product and 16% of the state's employment base. This massive, complex business has invested and created for itself a voice in the public arena. This voice is the Georgia Agribusiness Council. The GAC is the organization which provides a forum for the entire industry - to share views, develop understanding, and work on issues of common concern.
